Lagos is a little town in the south of Portugal in an area called the Algrave. It's quite an old city that was used as a fisherman's port, but nowadays it's a tourist destination because of the amazing beaches and coastline, as well as the quaint cobble stone streets with patterns in black and white, and the traditional Portugese tiles covering lots of buildings.
We check into the Rising Cock. Yes, the Rising Cock. The Portugese have a thing with c*** … the rooster type of course. Little c*** are everywhere in the shops and on tiles. Obsessed. Anyway we soon realise this is a party hostel full of Aussies. They drink all night and sleep on the beach all day.
We do go out a couple of times but mostly spend time relaxing on the beach and going for walks around the old town or along the coast. It's soooo hot in Lagos and we are surprised that the water is so cold! Kinda like Sydney…. very refreshing! Rawan picks up a beach ball set, and we play on the sand quite a bit. Troy always wins. hmpfff.
We have some cool roomies. A girl from Origen, Havi and a couple from NZ (Caroline and Paul), as well as the house Gerbil… which we fell in love with!
The best part about Lagos though was the crepes. "Mama" made the BEST crepes. She would make endless crepes and show u her Magic Tea. It's yellow, then with two drops of lemon juice, and a "tikka tikka tikka" it would turn clear. She would say u need a bit of magic in the morning. Nice way to start the day :)
We are sad to be leaving Lagos with all of its charms, but I have my new pedicure and we all have full bellies of crepes, so jump on a bus to Lisbon.
