Well, I started this thing kinda late. I started my trip on Sunday May 18th. I started in Atlanta, drove to New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Houston, San Antonio, El Paso, Phoenix, and now here ... the south rim of The Grand Canyon in Northern Arizona. I piked up Allison this morning in Phoenix and we drove straight up to the canyon from there. We made our camping reservations back in January, but we never did take the weather into consideration. Two days ago, I was driving through 105 degree desert; yesterday was 95 degree desert; today ... 38 degree mountains. Haha. Our reservations were for a campsite in the state park, but since we do not want to sleep in the freezing rain and snow, we grabbed a hotel room just outside the park. Things are good though. We have a roof over our heads and heat to keep us warm tonight.
Tomorrow, we are going to wake up and totally take advantage of our free breakfast, then head back over to the canyon and try to get some more pictures and stuff. Today, all you could see was a big hole filled with fog and mist. Even though that was all you could see, it was still breath-taking. I could look at it for hours with no complaints that I am bored. But still, tomorrow will be even better.
I am dropping Allison off at her YoungLife camp tomorrow afternoon, then I think I heading to Las Vegas. I think. I haven't made up my mind yet weather or not I want to go there. I know it will be tons of fun, but it would be so much better if I had another person to go along with me. Plus, it is expensive. Mucho dinero. So, I am thinking about heading straight for Alaska tomorrow after dropping Allison off. But, like the old wise man has always said ... we'll see ...
