Ecuador! Still swaying and star struck from the Galapagos, Soumo and I have travelled close to 300 kilometres over the past two days, through the Andes in a combination of buses and pick up trucks.. The landscape is quite different to the Peruvian and Bolivian Andes and more like a cross between the Alps and Ireland, a lot greener and more cows! We visited a little co-operative town today called Salinas, at 3,500m above sea level, which produces chocolate, pasta, soy, cheese and, quite randomly, eucalyptus essential oil and footballs.. It is so peaceful away from the cities and the people so inquisitive about life in Australia and Europe..thankfully the Spanish is coming together so I can learn more about life here.. The women are spectacularly beautiful in their woolen colours, hats and strands of glass beads around their necks.. Arrived in Baños this evening, ready to explore the countryside nearby over the next few days and, hopefully, fit in a massage and a trip to the hot springs..although I don´t really feel that I deserve it!
