Cyclone Cook hit during the night. It's not often we can hear the weather from inside our compact two bedroom hideout, but not this night. I woke often to torrential rain and buffeting winds but the piece de resistance was the earth shattering wail of our fire alarm at 1am. It turns out that maybe this was yet another gift from Cook as we could find no evidence of a fire before stumbling our way back to bed. And here I am at 5am awake, reading and writing, with a slightly nagging head thanks to a delayed bodily reaction to daylight saving kicking in.
But it is Easter - and a cherished 4 day weekend - with no time to waste of my 44 months. Today I'm cleaning out my shoe cupboard….scary for someone who loves shoes, but my local St John's shop will benefit, as many show little sign of wear. Those that I adore are obvious. They bare the signs of the street and have all the appearances of being well loved. From today, only shoes who bare witness to my wonderful world will find room in my closet.
