Just back from Serra, so gorgeous even in the rain Those that have been will know the air changes so much from the city and it's very peaceful in comparison to city noise. I actually felt cold surprisingly on the Saturday night and had my thick bench jumper on, apparently i'm very Brazillian as I haven't really felt the heat considering it's been hot and humid. However, saying that i did feel the sun on sunday and my skin saw it's effects, I had suncream on and was covered up but obviously not enough as my arms caught the sun and my neck :( was very hot I have to say before the thunderous rain came down in the afternoon...

...before the rain, every much enjoyed lazying my the pool, saw the most amazingly coloured pair of humming-birds playing together in the flowers, and a bird that I only describe as a sort of turkey, or what closely resembles a turkey, lol...the boys are very good at knowing the wildlife, all very interesting. Had a really nice BBQ and lots of cake, even made an apple and blackberry crumble which went down well :) British weather is certainly indifferent but to go from baking hot sunshine to a thunder storm is the Brazillian summer apparently, and the rain came down...thought it was only going to be a light shower as I was in the BBQ house but as I soon realised it was actually getting heavier, and so had to make a run for the main house in white linen trousers, so fun! After such glorious sunshine I wasn't expecting rain, came away to escape that, lol.

Seems the samba groups out practising for carnival on sunday night, on our way home, weren't at all phrased by the rain...despite being drenched to the skin some of them were still dancing to the music :)
