We arrived in Bangkok in the early afternoon, which was just enough time for us to get our barings and then visit Ko San Rd. Our hotel was great this time, and it was close to everything. The second day we walked to the Grand palace/ Wat Pra Koeo and made our way through the flocks of tourists to visit the temple and to get out of the heat. After we stopped at a market on the Chao Phraya River and ate our weight in fresh pineapple and green mangoes. Then we wandered over to Wat Pho. Both temples were fantastic. They were decorated with small to tiny reflective glass tiles, and what ever wasn't tiled was gold leafed. We took lots of pictures. Some of which we had to delete because of the sun reflecting back. After seeing the temples we visited another market along the river and ate some noodle dishes. The view was of the river, Wat Arun and the ferry docks. We enjoyed lunch and watched tourists and monks getting on and off of the ferries. Bangkok was great! I could already see why so many people are so attached.
