Hi all, Kirsty here. After reading what Mandy and Ash wrote I felt I had to jump in and defend Lima. While I still have nothing great to say about it, it's not as bad as they are making out. It's true we didn't feel safe walking the streets (and we're supposedly staying in the Bondi of Lima) and every man in Lima stopped to stare (if not wolf whistle, beep the horn or shout buenisimo), but it's OK, really... The hotel is nice and clean at least... ...

Ash here... There's a reason this site doesn't have a stock photo of Lima in its colleciton (see Machu Picchu, right) and that is because Lima is a city worth forgetting. As Mandy's blog detailed, the city is even more of a s***hole than Uruguay. Using food as a comparison Uruguay is like a tasty Big Mac while Lima is like the mouldy snot on the street outside. That said, Lima has better pavements than B.A. And... that's about all there is to Lima. ...
