A late night with a belly full of pizza = a good nights sleep. A bit late moving this morning, was about 10am when we made it to breakfast.
Lovely cold buffet with definite French tones. Great start.
Out into the cool with map in hand and we are off into Montreal. Up to Rue St Catherine to get bearings. This is the main shipping strip and also hoses the underground shopping malls which we will cover more than once.
Wind was cool as we followed our noses around the city down to Old Montreal. Some lovely architecture here. Notre Dame church and a lovely square found as the sun teased us. We made it down to the waterfront, near the science centre and and wharf. Toilet stop and a cafe visit for a drink.
Strolling around the waterfront we found the Cirque du Soleil tents. Will check if the show has started.....
Looking across the river, water was flowing quickly we saw the bio-dome and amusement park on the other side.
The wind off the water was cold as we continued along. Found a playground which was enjoyed by TB and CB. Mid afternoon and it was time for lunch. We had walked a bit this morning and girls needed a change of pace. We made our way back into St Catherine and downstairs to underground shopping network.
Food was abundant and we all settled on our own menu. After a quick bite we headed off to explore the shops. This place is huge and all connected across several blocks and rail stations.
It was late afternoon and EB feeling a bit flat. We ventured back to Nouvel hotel. We rested and caught up with emails, facebook etc. CB & TB fell asleep and woke later to the question of dinner. No one too interested in going out but we had some crappy snacks to see us through.
Let's see what we can do tomorrow. We are here a little early in the season for some things and aside from museums and architecture not sure what else there is here??
Good day
