With a short drive down the coast we arrive at Washington D.C, maybe for casual tea with the president...?!
The city is a very attractive place with many impressive buildings, everything very clean and well kept. We went straight to the main park which is home to most of the cities memorials, the white house and well manicured gardens. The gardens included the World War 2 memorials, Vietnam's veterans' memorials and the holocaust memorials museum, all of them unique and interesting in their own way.
Since travelling down the east coast the heat has increased rapidly, along with the humidity. There seems to be a lot of towns that aren't really to be stopped in, we use our gut and move on from anywhere that give us a bad vibe. Heading into the right part of city seems to be really important in the US as we seem to really quickly find ourselves trying to camp out in the 'hood!' not advised.
So far, really enjoying the east coast, quite different to the west coast and very few travellers this side, seems RV land in the west coast, see if this changes in Florida.
