Trying to resist temptation of being a kid for the day was too hard, Universal Studios was a must see. At $102 each this was a massive treat for us so we were expecting great things.
The first ride we went on we waited for over an hour and it was worth it...for the Minions!!! ha! A 3D ride for 10 year olds but it was actually really good and Paul loved it :) Most of the rides here seem to be 3D; Minions, Transformers, The Mummy, all good, Transformers ride AMAZING but with a longer wait of around 80 minutes which was pretty tough but its soon dismissed once your there.
Only being able to afford the one park; we choose Universal Studios supposed to their twin park Universal Island of Adventure, where you can jump on the Hogwarts Express between the two parks, which I'm pretty disappointed not to do :(. The park is great with the highlights being the Transformers, Harry Potter and The Simpsons village, however, although the park is amazing it is really quite dated and needs a bit of a cleanup of rides like Terminator and Twister, which really let it down.
We managed to go on pretty much every ride there but on a whole for the 'big kid' we are inclined to think that the Universal Island of Adventure would've been better for us, Universal Studios possibly more aimed for actual kids (strangely enough). Also, purchasing an express ticket to take the edge of the wait on the rides, would advise express to anyone going in peak seasons.
Great park, really glad we got to see it, few amazing bits, few not so amazing bits but good day at Universal as expected.
