So, we have had a few days just making our way through Nevada, Palm Springs to get here in time for the game and to see a little of what San Diego has to offer. The drive pieced together with our Breaking Bad stops, sweaty cheese sandwich and Funyuns lunches and the odd Starbucks cup of tea and internet session. The barren landscape between small towns that our satnav guided us through- we agreed- was really eerie, there was something about it just a bit creepy. The cacti and hot burrito signs were started to appear and you could see a slight transformation to a more 'Chico' land as Paul calls it.
With first sight of San Diego it looks- dare I say it- initially a bit of a dump! There were a few fine looking restaurants and park areas but really not much to look at but we had made our way straight into the centre so I guess to be expected. We shortly discovered the whole new side to San Diego, much like Miami, come out of the main land over the bridge and it becomes quickly evident where the money is. We parked Marv up for the night right in view Coronado Beach, a long soft sand beach but with seaweed everywhere and although comparing San Diego to Miami where the sea was like a hot bath, here, was not!
We stretch our legs with a long walk along the beach and then head into the town, filled with bars, restaurants, posh shops, really nice area and with our return to California there are people exercising everywhere, shamelessly star jumping all over the place.
