So.

This is it. Our "Trip of the Century". I don't exactly how we ended up to plan this trip. It just happened. So, first of all. Who are "we" and what are we going to do? You might say that we're bunch of nerds who don't know what they want from life. And two steps from full-blown alcoholics. I need to correct that a tad bit on my behalf: One step.

I'll start this "introduction" on my own behalf and after that tell something about this whole trip:

So, who am I?

Location: Espoo, Finland

Brief history:

So, I ended up moving to Dublin, Ireland in summer of 2007 and spent there about 2 years, those times were more or less enjoyable. Reason for the move was simple: job. Nothing glorious, normal IT-nerd stuff, only thing I kinda know how to do. After getting fired (or like, let go, like 130 other guys besibes me, thanks offshoring) I had no bloody idea what I wanna do. We were joking about moving to Russia and bribing our way among the officers of the Glorious Red Army. But well, that was more like drunken joke, naturally we didn't do that. Though, the idea was great.

After spending 7 months in Finland I felt the need to do something. I've always had this bit childish respect for the people who really "saw the world": Hopped on a ship to travel the seas of the world or join the Legion. After quick talk with friend (and ex-roommate) of mine, Jarno, we ended up to this plan: Taking the train from Moscow to Beijing, also known as the Trans-Siberian Railway. 6 days forth and 6 days back, cheap vodka, caviar and Kalinka! And well, we asked few friends of our along, seems that there's at least 3 of us going, hopefully 4.

Well, that's about it. Preparation plans so far: I already got the Lonely Planet's book. Next, I think I'll watch Rocky IV and first Predator-movie, just in case.

So, that's my 2 cents so far. More updates once I have some updates about the preparations. Hopefully the other guys will tell something about themselves.
