Trailor on Tour
I was up early and ready for the 0730 shuttle back to the airport - third time lucky with getting to Fiji!!!!!!
As I was wandering towards reception to check out, my ears were assaulted by the screeching of a mad woman - none other than Lori Fay. She was effing and blinding at the reception staff and all because they had asked her if she had had anything from the mini-bar. Thankfully the family travelling with us with 2 small children were nowhere around. I boarded the shuttle and sat next to Louise, who looked a bit shaken. When I asked if she was OK it transpired that Lori Fay had ranted at her before starting on the hotel staff - not nice names she was being called, so I won't repeat them, but it was all because Louise was having a cigarette whilst waiting for the shuttle departure time, to which LF took umbrage, despite the fact that the bus was not leaving for another 20 minutes.
Needless to say the bus trip to the airport was rather strained as it was only the 3 of us on board. Check in was the same old rigmarole, due to my photocopied ticket, but I got there in the end and even the Air New Zealand staff realised they had a strange one on their hands with LF and made a note for the cabin crew. I requested to be sat nowhere near her as if she had spoken to me the way she did to Louise, I don't think I'd have been quite so quiet about it!!
Prior to check in they again offered $600 for anyone who was willing to fly later and travel via Wellington, but sadly I was not quick enough this time, oh well!!
Thankfully the flight passed uneventfully, although LF moved seats twice as she kept complaining. A woman and a small baby came and sat next to me and she apologised, obviously thinking that I would not be best pleased at having a little person next to me, when little did she know that after LF, a baby was a welcome treat!!!!!
When I landed in Nadi (pronounced Nandy) I got the shuttle to the Nomad Skylodge with Louise and we checked in to the same room as Keren - the girl I met in Perth, and also saw in Nelson.
It was great to catch up with her, although the evening took a wrong turn when The Wicked Witch of the West showed up!! Fortunately she did not see us and proceeded to humiliate herself in the limbo competition by gyrating round the floor - not pleasant!!
To bed and onwards tomorrow, though not sure where yet. Sherry xx
