Yesterday was tour bus day. We walked from our apartment to Time Square and took a double decker bus tour around the down town area... which means we spent the entire day and saw very little of Manhatten because it's so huge. We did manage to see some expected sites including the Empire State Building, Wall Street, Ground Zero and Lady Liberty off in the distance. We did some shopping at Century 21 (which is a big store like Winners... not real estate) and I bought socks... Who would have thought. Today will maybe more successful in that department.
The afternoon got a little tense as the girls tried to get show tickets. Nine women trying to make a decision about "art" - it reached a bit of a painful level but in the end some people bought tickets for "Curtains" for Friday - the rest of us are going to see Duran Duran in Central Park that night. I still haven't bought any show tickets but by the sounds of it I'll be going by myself to what I want to see so I'm not worried about getting single tickets.
Last night we went next door to our local Indian restaurant and had an amazing dinner. After that it was off to our neighbourhood pub. Fun was had by most and shooters were consumed but everyone managed to make it home in one piece, still laughing. Don't ask me what time it was.
This morning it's off again to do another bus tour day although I think we're splitting up into smaller packs for now. We're doing the uptown loop this time and it'll be our first view of Central Park and Harlem. The sky is blue and it's supposed to be a beautiful day.
