Tracey - Doha 2006
So - Googe (one of my Dwarfs - Sneezy) kidnapped me and took me to Orange for the weekend where I met his wife Carolyn and little girl Crystelle.
Orange is about 3 hours west of Sydney (250km) through the Blue Mountains and out the other side. His commute - although long was much more picturesque than say London to Manchester! As we drove through the Blue Mountains, the cloud settled in so I 'mist' the view (sorry!!). Luckily - I knew what I was missing as I managed a trip to the Blue Mountains with my parents the first time I was here!
About 50km before we got to Orange we drove through Bathurst - the Motor Racing Circuit. We even drove round the circuit as when there is no race it is used as a road! There was even houses dotted around the track and driveways coming off it! How mad! And really off putting when you see a car coming in the opposite direction!
Orange was lovely and I had a very relaxing weekend. Late in the evening two of Carolyn's friends (Vicky & Paul) surprised her by turning up (they live about 5 hours away!). So the house was buzzing by morning! We had a lovely picnic for lunch following my investigation of Orange town. Then in the evening we had a typical Ozzie Barbie! YUM!! This is where I was introduced to Butter Scotch Schnaps with Baileys - more YUM! Sunday started well with Pancakes for breakfast followed by some berry picking! Our fridge back in Sydney is now full of berries!
Anyway - thanks to the Googes for a fab weekend.....
