Tegan's Adventures
When I first got this website I imagined I'd be updating it all the time, writting witty accounts of my experiences. Buts its been a little difficult. When I use the computer its hot and steamy and I am very concious of the amounts of time i'm spending on it. Like now, I've probably been on the computer for a good 40 minutes reading emails and researching things like hotels in Venice. Right, so back to witty experiences. I'm staying on the farm of Niek Frankenmolen, a dutchman who decided to convert and old french barn and farm house into his ideal home. I work with him and two other WWOOFers, Rebeka from Switzerland and Stephen from the UK. There is also two dogs, two sometimes three cats and various other tenats who I some times see. I sleep in a 'caravan' in a field next to a white horse and its little baby. That is the most disagreable part of the experience- I have to tromp through this field everytime I went to get from where I sleep to where I use the bathroom and eat. Its quite suprising i haven't gotten poisin ivy, i work outside and run around the wilderness everyday. I haven't gotten poisin ivy, but I have been electricuted twice (by the fence on my way in to my field) and have had many ecounbters with scorpions. The most agreeable part here is the view. We eat on this deck which overlooks the church tower in the valley surrounded by moutains. Theres is also a swimming pool with the same view. Whenever I get bored I take a rambling path throught fields of yellow flowers and go sit on some rocks overlooking a cliff. And when I get bored of that I try to find the cow with a bell around its neck which I can alwayts here but can never get too. I really like Rebeka, shes 26 and a nurse. We work as a team and get along so well I often have to translate what she is trying to say to Stephen who needs things to be very practical. Even though Stephen has a british accent he is far from dreamy. He blond and very skinnyand always makes little 'hemming' noises When we go swimming Rebeka and I use him for anatomy lessons because you can see all his bones. Stephen is growing on me. Hes very much the gentleman and always overs to protect us from thing even though in reality it would be us who would be protectying him. On thrusday I leave for Venice to meet up with my sister.
p.s. I have written tons of postcards, but I don't have any stamps so you want get them quite yet.
