Day two on the big green bus began with us waking early only to find we were to be joined by 5 bloody Aussies - bearing in mind we'd just spent 2 months in their country did they really have to follow us! Once again though we were lucky and we got a nice bunch of people. We set off into the jungle to start our 3 hour trek through dense vegetation and waded through 2 miles of fresh water streams which by the end of it we were absolutely shattered! Luckily what followed was a gentle rubber ring ride (no sexual innuendo intended!) down a river to a waterfall where we took a photo which we have to say is a real living room centre piece - theres no copy right on it so please feel free to print as many as you desire and give them to friends and family for xmas! We spent the night in the nations capital, Suva, where we enjoyed the surroundings of an Irish pub - where in the world is there not an Irish pub!  Back on the bus again for our next journey around Fijis main island and our first stop today was a school situated literally in the middle of nowhere. On our way there we stopped off to buy the kids some stationary and gifts because of the lack of funds the school receives. We brought them some cookies, pencils and books needless to say because Gav left the bag with Chris all that was left of the cookies by the time we got there were crumbs! The children were so amazing and so grateful to receive everything we'd given them, we'll never forgot the look on little Vilamoni's face when he lit up his first Marlboro Red and sipped on his first class of JD - ahhhh!! But seriously it was a moment neither of us will ever forget and a moment that made us realise how lucky we all are with everything we've got and how happy others can be when they have absolutely nothing. Needless to say Gav cried again! That afternoon we visited a village for a traditional Kava ceremony where we got to sample even muddier water (Kava) then we had already tried in Sydney. We then said goodbye to the village Chief and set off to a local river for some bamboo rafting and games in the muddy waters. Our accommodation that evening was another beautiful resort called Voli Voli where we played partay games between our Feejee bus and other guests which included crab racing (obviously we have a few between us, we've been to Thailand for christs sake!) and pass the bottle which we cheated at miserably and got disqualified! The night was capped off by a midnight fire on the beach and a good old fashioned "camp" sing song!It was our final day on the Feejee bus but before we set off we decided an introduction to scuba diving would be a good idea. After our experiences in Thailand snorkeling with sharks we were now made for the open waters and set sail into the ocean confident in our abilities. Being a bit over confident the three of us that we diving set off in various directions after we'd been told to stay close together! Everything was going so well as we dived 15m down through coral arches and corridors inches away from reef sharks but after only 15 mins Chris's leg started to cramp up ad he had to return to the surface, 2 mins later Gav appeared complaining his over sized ears were hurting due to the pressure (the instructor later revealed he thought Gav had been picking up sonar signals from whales 15km away!), and then a few minutes later the other lad popped his head out of the water saying his air had run out! In all the years he had been diving the instructor said he'd never had such a bad bunch of trainees and in his words "youre all poofs"! We then headed off to our next destination, the mud pools and hot baths. Not everyone was so keen on the mud baths but being the idiots we are Chris and Gav jumped straight in and started lathering each other up with thick, smelly sludge! After our exfoliating session was over we jumped in the hot natural baths to wash each other down - for all of half an hour we felt like two pampered queens as our skin glowed with all its natural beauty! To be continued again............ Â
