Once upon a time we were far far away in a land of shopping and sight seeing! We are now home and our whole trip has ended and we really cant believe it! So what have we got to catch up on? I think the last blog was from Santa Cruz so we have San Fran and New York to tell you about!
We had 3 nights in San Francisco, which went surprisingly quickly, with much shopping going on and a lot of wandering about the city taking in all the sights which was lovely. Our first night there we wandered into Union Sqaure for some shopping and then we went to a proper American Diner for a wonderful 50's style American meal. The next morning was sent walking to Kate's Kitchen for an incredible brunch! I had a short stack of strawberry and granola pancakes (which I still couldn't finish!) and Matt had 'The Big Man's Breakfast! - So huge it has to come on two plates!
The next two days were sightly tainted as we spent a large amount of time faffing about because of one thing and another. This was a shame but we still managed to make the most of the time we had left and had some wonderful meals!
And last but not least in our around the world trip was New York. New York was such a wonderful city to end our trip on and we had a great time sightseeing and shopping! We spent our first day sighseeing which was a blessing as we had wonderful weather and the next two days weren't quite as nice. We did the Rockafella Centre, had a great wander around Times Square, then onto Little Italy, Chinatown and Soho, before heading over to the financial district and Ground Zero. From here was caught the Statten Island Ferry to see the Statue of Liberty (which looked smaller then we both expected!) but we got a great veiw of it and also of the city as we sailed away. Next stop the Empire State Building. This was truly spectacular, as it was early evening and there was the most incredible sunset over the city which was saw from the top!
The next day was spent shopping which was great fun until all my things got locked in a changing room for two hours in Macys! After our fiasco in Macys we had a Pret for lunch before moving on to more shopping! After we had completely shopped till we dropped we headed over to Serendipity 3 for supper! We had an amazing meal here consisting of a frrrozen hot chocolate as my drink (which filled me up before our main had even arrived), we both had foot long hot dogs and we then shared a huge banana split for pudding. A wonderful way to end the day!
Our last day in New York was supposed to be spent at the Guggenheim but when we turned up we found out it was closed on Thursdays - it was such a dissapointment, but we spet the day in Central Park instead which was lovely, before heading over to Michael Jordans Steak House for lunch as our last meal of the trip. And what a meal to end the trip on!
We then got ourselves to the airport for our last flight, our flight home! This has been the trip of a life time, and to be honest it is still strange being home! We have loved every minute of the trip and we will take the memories with us for the rest of our lives. And the best bit? - All of it!
All our love Tots and Matt xxxxxxxxxxxxx
