We went out to look at who woke us up at 7:00am. Then after a swim in the pool we headed out to Pukeiti gardens. We looked at all the rhododendrons as we walked on a sidewalk made of grass. We walked on a guided tour and saw a hollow Rata tree. Then we saw a waterwheel and a damn. After we had left the gardens we found a beach with lots of paua shells. This long weekend we went to Taranaki. We stopped at a winery and then went down to a beach with boulders to sit on. We ate out lunch on the boulders as a dog passed by. We found a hotel and our apartment was right next to a pool. From the hot tub there was a little water fall. We walked to a stream where there was a lawn to bowl on. I went on the beach and sat in a twig teepee. Then a buffet. We stayed in New Plymouth. 

Friday - This afternoon I went with my scout troop to go orienteering. We went out in groups to find little signs. The signs were pretty small. We were having a real hard time finding the signs, so we had a leader come with us. My friend Jenny had seen some of the signs before so she showed us some of them. We met Catherine out near Auckland and walked on the beach with her. Then went home. 

Today we went to the Bonsai show. We saw lots of miniature trees including a maple. After we went to a gypsy fair where there was lots of home made crafts including pony rides and kelpie puppies for sale. In the evening we went to my mum's concert where there was a piano player, guitars, oboe, recorders and of course singers. It was a nice concert, I like the piano.
