Spend a gorgeous day on the beach on Koh Phi Phi Don, sunbathing and swimming. The water was so beautiful. You could walk out for about half a mile and it only cam up to you waist, impressive when u are only 5'2". Had a look around the shops then met up with some scottish guys who we had met on the ferry to Phi Phi.
The next day we got up early for our day boat trip. We decided to go out in a longtail boat as we figured it would be more authentic than then big cruise yachts with hundreds of people. This was the best day of the trip so far. On our boat was a German couple, an Aussie girl and her spanish friend and 3 guys from France.
Luckily our first stop was Maya Bay 'The Beach'. It was breath taking. The pictures just dont do it justice. So stunning. We did some snorkling in the deeper water then went onto the beach for a few hours. As we had gone early it had been fairly deserted but within an hour or so it was packed full of tourists and boats visiting. Such a shame.
The boat then took us around Phi Phi Ley, visiting caves and coves on the way. The afternoon was spent snorkling and swimming and on the boat. The underwater life was amazing and the islands themselves were beautiful - a geographers paradise! Was actually admiring rock formations - geek!!! We visited Bamboo island - crystal blue water and totally deserted. paradise! then went to monkey island where the monkeys will eat anything they can get their hands on. Was a bit freaked out when they startde chasing us around the beach tho. Such an amazing day!
In the evening we met up with the scottish lads, Stuart, Murry, Ali and Bob, as it was Murry's birthday. they had been on a fishing trip and caught nothing as none of them had ever fished and their guide didnt speak a word of English! We laughed at them a lot as our day had been so amazing! Finally got to bed at about 4am then had to be up at 7 for the ferry to Phuket! Not cool at all!
Phi Phi was easily my favourite place in Thailand. Almost like a tropical sark with no cars etc. Although the night life was brilliant and the place was full of backpackers. Would definately recommend!
