Our second day in London started with a nice buffet breakfast at the hotel. We then took the double decker tour bus to various sights. Our first stop was Buckingham palace, I know, where else would King Tony stop. There were people every where. Also there was acutal gold monuments and gates and those british soldiers with the funny hats. The police also had the funny hats. A military band came through along with kinghts like troops on horses. It was quite a scene. After an hour or so there we got back on the tour bus. I tried to stop and use the restroom in the ritz carlton but they said I needed a suit jacket to enter!! Anyway, our next stop was St Pauls cathedral. No pics allowed, we went in but the top of the cathedral, 365 steps, was closed so we might return when we come to london on the last day of our trip. We also passed by Kessington Palace, the last Home of Princess Diana. Thats also on our list when we return. We then went to the tower of london which was our favorite place in London. We listened to audio on headphones as we walked through the huge castle. Among many Highlights were the traitors gate, the place were people got their head chopped off and the Crown Jewels. After a few hours in the castle we went on a Jack the ripper tour. The tour guide took us to the pub where all the "women of the night" drank. Alleyways and other places involved in The White Chapel mureders. Very very dark, everyone wanted to leave that part of town when we were finished. After the tour we went to Trafulgers Square and Leicester square. We had dinner outside and did a little shopping. We called it a night about 10pm because our plane leaves for Venice at 600am whcih means we have to be on the tube by four.
