04.04.07 - Well it was a very early start this morning as I had to be up to catch my first coach at 7am. So as we departed Cairns our first stop off was at a Croc ranch were believe it or not I got hold of an aligator and a large powerful snake... Not that is the first time I have had to hold such a thing. Later on we headed to Mission beach to drop off the first lot of passengers and then headed down to Magnetic Island were we jumped on a ferry and left main land Australia. Once we got dropped off a few of us who were on the coach went for some food and met a few ppl who did the Ozintro we did in our first week so we had a good chat. This place is awesome for a hostel it is situated right on the beach along with the bar and resturaunt so this will be my stop for the next few days before I head to Airlie Beach.
05.04.07 - Its all change again today, The people who were in my room last night have all moved on as most people only tend to stay here for 2-3 days max. So today I thought I would get back in to the holiday mode & go chill on the beach and catch some sun as this wont be around when I hit New Zealand. I sat in the shade for most of the day as im out of sun cream and the shop is a 20 minute walk plus it cost money, Its all about the dollar. Anyway I went in the sun from about 4 on wards & this idiot goes and gets burnt so im a tad pink, a lil soar but let that be a lesson to me on how strong the sun is on the coast. Tonight I headed down to the bar for a few beers got chatting to a few folk and their is a Kiwi in the hostel he jumped on the table and started doing the Haka! What a guy they loved it. As I returned back the new people have arrived a couple from London Lisa & Lee plus 4 guys from Hull uni who are all pretty sound.
06.04.07 - Good friday! Today has been pretty good Lee & Lisa who are the couple who moved in yesterday rented a car out so we toured round the Island in this mini jeap which was hardly road worthy but good fun and we visited various beaches, I was not for gettin my top off though as the sun burn was still a lil raw. What a night, Good friday does not live up to its name in terms of bars out here, For some reason not sure if this is just Queensland or other states in Australia but by law they had to stop serving beer at 9! So me Lisa, Lee, Russ and Gustav the new roomie who is Austrian all headed down to the bar at half 6 then started on jugs of beer we also met up with Emma & Matt a Leeds lad who I had got chattin to round the pool and then continued to drink until 10pm the bad asses that we are. Probably a good job that rule was in place as with another coach Journey looming think it benefited me more.
All in all this is a very cool and chilled out place I paid $99 dollars for three nights included was the ferry and coach transfer plus I also got 2 hours free net time, 1hr snorkeling, 1hr Kayaking also 1 free breakfast I would recommend this to anyone.
