Today we got away from the 'Ibiza' feel and back into the travelling mode with a day trip to My Son. It was temple ruins in the middle of the mountain valleys that was bombed by the Americans during the war, there were two or three bomb holes around the site. Nobody lives here now, but it's classed as holy land. There were lots of headless Buddhas and other statues, as during the war there was a stage where (I'm not sure who) went round cutting the heads off the Buddhas in protest. I tried to get a photo of my head on the big fat Buddha but the guard chased me away... So I got one with the skinny statue instead around the corner :-P
We then got on a boat and sailed the river whilst having a 'light lunch' as the guide kept saying so we didn't build our hopes up :) it was just rice pretty much! We stopped on the craft island and some of the things they make by hand is incredible, so beautiful... The only thing I could carry was chopsticks :) so I got you a present mum and dad :-P let's hope they make it back in one piece.
Back in Hoi An we took a stroll along the river front to the Japenese covered bridge, we got half way across and they demanded ticket money so we went back and took pictures from ourside!
Tonight I'm on a night bus to Nha Trang...
