Did our various jobs cleaning and tidying Thea's pool and watering the plants before Danie took us into Cape Town centre to meet Mike (our mate from earlier in SA).
Danie's drive took us the scenic route via vineyards, hills, townships (with an obscene amount of cables being used by one pole for the many blacks), Bloubergstrand, looking over the blue sea with all the kitesurfers and the beautiful view of Table Mountain.
We were dropped in the centre and met Mike at 'The Penthouse' where he and the Kiwis had been staying for a few days. We caught up and the three of us had another KFC (but this time eating a bucket as the SA'ns reckoned it was way better than the UK's, we didn't notice a difference) and finding out that the cricket semi-final Mike was sorting out didn't exist as the idiot got the wrong day!
I did my budget shopping buying rolls, chicken slices and a tin of sweetcorn to make sarnies for tea whilst watching more cricket highlights! Also popped into this unique bar selling local and interesting, supposedly tasty beers, and where you could also play table tennis.
In the evening, we went to the roof of our backpackers with it's views and bar at the top, before hitting the Cape Town centre nightlife, at a modern sportsbar watching all kinds and drinking delicious double brandy and cokes for just over a pound!
At the next bar, Irish 'Dubliners' we met some of Mike's other travelling friends along the way and I resorted to drinking pints of Peroni as pretty much everything got expensive! The music was s*** (well, for my taste) but randomly, I noticed a hillbilly American who we met in a hostel in Malawi (he lives in my favourite place I visited in the USA). He went all up Africa and was pretty random to end up seeing him again.
We then met up with the group of English lads who we partied with in J-Bay weeks ago, and went to a club called Mercury where some Afriaaners had apparently been giving them some beats and they were scared to go back in. But being the lads we think we are (not lol), we decided to go in and make them come with us for the half price drinks. And sure as, there was no trouble.
Fun night getting our groove on, Jack and Mike had a lift home in a police car and Jack the Klepto stole his cherished Bunny Chow (curry in a loaf of bread) from the hostel shared fridge.
