November 11th - Singapore to Perth
The late night before this unnaturally early morning meant we were somewhat sleepy whilst re-packing our bags once again. We said our goodbyes to Richard and Jackie and jumped in a taxi to Singapore airport. About 2 hours later (after a short delay) we were away. I (Tom) was chuffed to see the Simpsons Movie on offer on the plane and set about getting comfy. Without a headset and film to block out sounds from other passengers, I (Sam) most definitely would have had us moved, as we were sat with two awful nose noise makers around us…ARGHH!!! Why on earth do they need to make such a disgusting noise every few minutes?!? I showed my disgust with some over exaggerated looks whilst waiting to get off of the plane. I (T) fired some of my very best 'evils' in the snorters general direction too and together we had a nice loud chat about how disgusting we found it…just to hammer our point home…'snort snort'!
Two movies (1408…rubbish) and some out of the window sight seeing later and we were touching down on Australian soil for the first time. We had to smile when the pilot informed us that it was 38 degrees outside the plane - toasty! Strict 'ole ozzy customs folk meant it took a while for us to escape the airport, not to mention the Norwegian lady determined to cruise in front of us in the queue…at one point I think she may have actually had a foot between my buttocks! Sam made sure she sufficiently wound her up by walking slow and weaving, 'that's me girl'! J
Finally free, we entered arrivals and began trying to pick out my (T) uncle from the crowds. We spotted each other at the same time…not bad considering last time we met I was 6!! Walking outside the airport was a climate slap in the face; the race was on to strip off the extra layers we had on from the chilly plane! The drive home was a classic 'try and keep your eyes open and don't head rock too much' challenge, with Sam very nearly loosing the battle! Once at my Auntie and Uncles' house in Joondalup, Perth (somewhere we can call home for a while), we set about some serious loafing and relaxing for the evening. Homemade food followed by home brew beer made this task much easier!!
