Tom´s Trip Around South America
On arriving in Paracas we transferred to a boat and for 30 minutes headed out to the Ballestas Islands - also known as the poor man`s Galapagos. On the way we past a huge pre-Inca candle figure that had been dug into the hillside. On arriving at the islands we were surrounded by Peruvian Blue Footed Boobies, a type of sea bird. There were also comorants dotted around and even the odd penguin in between hugging the cliffs. There were also a couple of thousand sea lions littering the beaches and roaring away like there was no tomorrow. All very cool.
After an hour long tour we returned to land for some awful food at Johnnys and Jennys before returning to Huacachina. We re-fuelled on awesome juices and caught the local bus to Lima.
