Well I'm currently sat in an internet cafe in Maasin, Philippines, waiting for the Coral Cay vs Maasin City football match, the highlight of a week long festival. Unfortuantely I might not be playing due to an infection in my foot after kicking some coral, but every team needs a coach.
The Philippines is a beautiful country and I have never been smiled and waved at so much in my life. For the whole 3.5hour journey to I had my head hung out of the window watching the rice paddies and the children walking to school.
And then there is the Scuba Diving. Every single dive here I see something I have never seen before. On my second dive here we were just about to decend when the world's largest fish, a whale shark swam just below my feet. The highlight has to be one of the night dives though. Here comes some marine nerdiness, but I saw a huge Bat Volute actively hunting and then 2 harliquin shrimp eating a starfish ( you may need to google them). Life on the site is very laid back and in between dives we sit and play cards and talking about extremely random things. I have made many friends for life here and there is a fantastic mix of characters that gel really well.
On de-gas night we head to the Kareoke bar where we sing Filipino songs and dance around the pool table. For my final two weeks me and Hector have been put in charge of entertainment and we have a tough act to follow, Emma.
Well only 2 weeks left until I shall be jetting off home so I am going to make the most of every second and when my foot is healed they will have to drag me out of the water.
