The last few days have been spent in Montgomery, Alabama and back in Atlanta, Georgia. The last night in Montgomery included a 2 hour boat trip with an awful covers band and a bar. So we sat and drank and took in the river. We then had another lovely meal and wine, before Mel went to bed and I stayed and say some really good bands. Took some photos of them and met some more interesting people. The bouncer was so impressed with the fact that I was english, he sorted me out 2 FREE drinks...someone tell me the last time anyone got anything other than a scowling look and rudeness from a bouncer in England...exactly! He said he would look me up if he came to London, which apparently he really wants to do.
The next day we drove back to Atlanta and are currently staying at The Social Goat bed and breakfast.(google it). Its a massive house and they keep goats, cockerals and turkeys in the back 'yard' (garden), though we have seen rabbits, chickens, squrrels and chipmonks flitting around. We spent today wondering around the zoo, and Mel nearly paid to feed the elephants, but it wasnt happening today for some reason. All of the big cats were actually active and the male lion roared a lot. Makes a change from them just laying down all the time asleep.
Tomorrow night is our flight home. Mel is currently proud of her Tetris packing, I dont know how she did it. Ill find out how heavy her case is when i carry it downstiars tomorrow! Probably both have to pay for excess baggage...but $40 for a pair of Levis....$40!!!!! thats about £27. I have 6 pairs...
See you soon England.
