The final India Blog ey, got a bit of a ring to it!
So since me last update quiet a bit has happened and alot has been done. Il just do same as before and let you know short update on where we went. Since i last wrote we ended up in Mumbai again and had aweful time geting a conecting train due to being holy friday or Monday/Thursday as some locals called it! We ended up getting ripped of big style by a bus company to get a bus to our next destination, however we got there so cannot complain:
Udaipur
Landed in and decided to stay here one night as we did not have accommodation for previous few nights. Was nice city, we stayed right next to the City Palace which was a great attraction, we got a tour around it and really enjoyed that! We were also next to the Floating Palace which in a now amazing hotel in middle of the lake, looks outstanding in photos however when u get there u see that there is no real lake due to having a bad monsoon season last year! As you can see from the photos. Spent the night having a walk around and haggling for a bottle of wine, which ended up getting opened in a restraunte by a spoon cuse they had no opener, but due to holy day they had fire works which was kool! The next day we lay by a pool in a local guest house before we set of on travels again!
That night got taxi to bus station when i realised i forgot my ipod, now i wasnt feeling to well and the bus drivers etc where shouting at us to get on bus and i mean shouting, we where getting stared at for being white and not in good form. We were gettin bothered and next minute a dude i thought to be working for company came over and asked if i was ok, explained situation and he spoke to driver, he said i can have 15min to get back to ghouse, the dude then put me on back of his motor bike and took me himself, he was so nice, didnt want money, just wanted to help! I was really grateful, one of those moments when u didnt htink that you would meet a nice person in such a place! Legend that is Ritz! Followed was a long and very uncomfortable bus journey but hey i had my ipod to keep me going!
Jodhpur
Stayed for one day, got in at 5am and booked train to leave at 10.30pm! Had a look around Johdpur and went to he Old Fort, which was amazing, really big fort and great attraction!
Jaipur
Arived very early in the morning and again decided to spend one night here before heading to Delhi for our final days! Went sight seeing and all the usual jaz, seen he pink city! So warm though that we had to chill inside for late afternoon!
Delhi / Agra
Had a fun train journey to Delhi, not! Usual really, people watching and watching all the madness! We went to see Taj Mahal yesturday, we missed trains due to only ariving to had to pay a private taxi! Was worth it though, 4 hour drive there and back. The Taj Mahal is an amazing building, breathtaking and we learnt alot about it! It almost looks fake because it is just so perfect. We also went around a number of other sights!
We are going to have a look around Delhi today and hjead to airport at about 1am for our flight to South Africa!
So there we go, India!
We have had an amazing time, it has been an experiance and a half, no real parties, infact only one, just pure old madness in the sort of culture! I figure it is a mental place and i still dont know if it is my sort of place to be, however we only seen a very small section of India, most people you meet are there for the 3rd / 4th time!
Mental things we see such as street children, huge riches next to pure poverty, five people on one motor bike. Adults on a motor bike with helmet on and sitting on back holding on is a young child with no protection gear! Last night i watched an ambulance with emergency lights etc on try and get thro trafic, instead of cars moving aside most of the pushed in front themselves, including our taxi, that is just wrong!
Amazing things i ave been have to be the Taj Mahal, outstanding, the cities and forts, palaces and templts!
A great mix and a great experiance.
India - DONE!
