WORK OF VOLUNTEERS:

1.1To assist with practical Music Instruction (Strings, Brass and Wind Instruments)
1.2To assist with classes in Dramatic Arts
1.3To assist with Dance classes (Ballet; Jazz; Latin/Ballroom
1.4To assist with the supervision of classes when class teacher has to attend a meeting/training.

Learners (boys and girls) of a combined Primary (Gr 1 - 6 = 6y - 12y) and High (Gr 7 - 12 = 13y - 19y) School for the Performing and Visual Arts.

This will depend on your duties.

When accompanying learners on a national tour.

Christian.

Usual school- related equipment (music instruments, sound equipment), computers.

Music: UNISA, TRINITY; Ballet: RAD

Internet + own resources available

The school is well equipped with photocopier, computers, etc, so you should have access to all the resources you need.

Own music instruments / dance gear

First Aid useful also drivers license, love of sports & to have hobbies that you can use to set up activities.

Children pay school fees where possible

R1000 per month.

4.The best way of keeping this money, and other valuables, safe:
Best to open a bank account from the UK. Project Trust recommends Nationwide, which doesn't charge for withdrawals.
5.Things on which you will spend this money (with a few local prices):
Toiletries Shampoo =R20 Stamps R4.50 Chocolates R3 -R7 Outings shopping and movies from time-to-time.
6.Amount of personal spending money vols should take out for the year:
Up to individual but need extra cash for weekends and holidays. You can easily spend a lot of money without realising it you will have to be very careful with your expenditure. This year's volunteers recommend that you definitely bring extra money for your holidays (R2000)
7.Travellers cheques ($ or £ sterling) or credit card: good idea to have travellers cheques in rand for your holidays and a credit card is very useful for emergencies. Internet banking is recommended.
