Hi all, sorry its been a while since we last posted anything on here, been a hectic few weeks going from place to place!
Had an amazing time in Thailand and managed to spend a fortune but it was well worth it! Went to an island near Ko Samui called Ko Phangan and managed to bump into one of our friends from uni there, Willday for anyone that knows him, which was completely random! Went to a half moon party in the jungle on our first night there which was absolutely amazing! a monsoon started as soon as we got there so everyone was drenched but it was probably the best night out ive ever had! Everyone was just dancing away in the rain until like 8am the next morning! Met loads of people where we staying which was pretty cool and we went to a few beach parties which ended up with me deciding i was going to skip on a rope set on fire and then dive through a ring set on fire...
Left Ko Phangan after three great days there and went on to Bangkok. We saw a few temples around town as you do and went on a day trip to Kanchanburi to see the bridge over the river kwai and the death museum right near it, was quite depressing but was really interesting to see! In the afternoon we went to a waterfall hidden away in the jungle but as soon as we got in it started to rain so we made a sharpish exit!
After a few days in Bangkok we got a nice little 12 hour bus journey up to Chiang Mai! Amy was sat next to some old man who reminded us of BLue from old school! He was about 70 and stunk horrendous but he started telling amy all these stories about Thailand, where to go, what to watch out for etc...like a little free tour guide to entertain us on our way down there!
We all went for a traditional Thai Massage to make us relax after our bus ride but it hurt us more than anything else, they just bent us round into awkward positions and cracked our bones for an hour....was very strange! Whilst we were in Chiang Mai we went on a jungle trek as well for the day. We went elephant riding through the jungle which was really cool, felt quite bad for the elephant though when the guy kept whacking it for going off course! After the elephant ride we had a trek through the jungle to see some tribes, fired some crossbows and then saw a hidden waterfall! On the way back to the tribes camp for lunch a little monsoon kicked in which made it nice and slippy...the tour guide called 'Banana' apparently, just did one and ran off for shelter so i had to walk amy and vanisha through the jungle with amy falling flat on her face every two minutes...After lunch it stopped raining and we went bamboo rafting for an hour so! We even went down a little mini waterfall on it....very exciting!
On our last day in Chiang Mai Vanisha decided to get a little tattoo on her foot...was all fun and games until she made me hold her hand and started crushing it!
After our time in Chiang Mai we went had nice 26hour journey down to Siem Reap in Cambodia, not fun at all! 12 hours to Bangkok and then 14 to border and then onto Siem Reap! The bus from the border at Poi Pet to Siem Reap must have been at least fifty years old, was covered in sand and couldnt got faster than 20km/h because the road is like a desert track, apparently the airlines are paying the government not to improve it so that more people fly...not impressed!
Were in Nha Trang now in Vietnam but we'll fill you in on Cambodia later on as were off for tea now!
