Hey all, been a while since we last updated the blog because we've been here there and everywhere and struggled to get onto the internet! Got to Kuala Lumpar almost two weeks ago now and had a really good time! Our flight from Delhi to Kuala Lumpar got delayed for 24 hours because of some fault with the plane so we got put up in a five start hotel for a day, it was literally heaven! amazing beds, free food, wide screen tv's, massive bath, swimming pool! well worth teh delay anyway!
Arrive in Kuala Lumpar a week ago last tuesday and did the typical touristy things, went and saw the patronas twin towers which are the picture above, and went and saw some famous parks witha massive lake....which coincidentally turned out to be drained until next week...so unlucky! Went to China town there where they literally have thousands of fake watches, cd's, clothes, jewellry...everything! After a few days in 'KL', as the locals call it, we got like a 9 hour bus down to a place called Kuala Besut and then a speed boat accross to the Perhentian Islands off the north east coast of Malaysia...it was literally like paradise! we stayed in a little 'A' Hut right on the beach, great view, great weather etc. Had a glorious to beach to lounge on during the day and get drunk on at night! was really peaceful and tranquil and was cool to just chill out for like five days or so. Tom ate some Shark and Barracuda, Amy had some Prawns and Vanisha was pretty much confined to salads and veg fried rice but the food was really good there! Met some fairly crazy peopel there though, some crazy slovenian girl who tried to latch on to me when i was drunk...saw her the next day and she was missing a bloody tooth which scared me, some random dutch man who followed us round all day saying how he was lonely! All in all we had a great time though, even managed to get a bit of sleep for a change!
After the Perhentian Islands we came over to Penang...been here for the past two days! Been and seen Penang Hill which was like 800 metres above sea level so you have to get a cable car to the top! Went to the biggest temple in Malaysia at a place called 'Air Atim' where they had a pond full of turtles...it was quite cruel actually because they were all crammed in and trying to hide frm teh sun but there was no shade for them...quite ironic that the pond was called 'Liberation Pond.'
Today we went down to Batu Ferringhi which is the famous beach in Penang, its like 6km of glorious beaches! We got there all ready to get a bit of a tan and have a ncie swim...then we got there, walekd into a bar and it literally turned into a monsoon for like 3 hours so we were trapped in this bar watching it lash it down for three hours! We decided to take advantge of the situation and swindled a little deal with the owner and got some cheap beers!
Off out in Penang tonight with a guy called Roy, whos from Kuala Lumpur, that we met on the perhentian islands, and then we've got a 16hour mini bus booked for tommorow at 12 to take us to Ko Samui in Thailand...should be fun with a hangover! Only cost us 12 quid each though so cant complain!
Speak soon
