Tom - World Tour!
Ok I wrote an essay for this section and then it was deleted by accident!! Don't have enough time to rewrite it now so I will update later!
Ok this is the second attempt!
On Friday morning we left for a long weekend in Santa Cruz to see my cousin, Patrick and girlfriend, Megan. Santa Cruz is a place where you will find the densest population of hippes and homeless in binbags but friendly none the less! Our first meal with was an Afghan, not of the human type but the food type! Very multi-cultural as the night before we went for Sushi but both very good food.
On the Saturday we visited the 'Roaring Camp and Big Trees Railway' one of two places in the world where you can see 290-300ft Redwwod trees. In the evening Patrick endulged us in a bottle of vodka which an hour later was consumed and then P passed out in one of the bars in Santa Cruz! To make the night more surreal we continued to get drunk with a US cop and his wife who were both very cool as they showed us the bars and clubs, even though one place wouldnt let me in as the doorman in a heavy Californian accent said ''ur too intoxicated''! Mum, Dad honestly I could walk in a straight line! It turned out to be Patrick who needed to be escorted home as later found out he was so drunk that he hurled some abuse on the way home to an 'on duty cop' who responded by providing him with a night in jail, good effort P!
Sunday was spent visiting the Aqauriam in Monteray which is the other side of the bay. The scale of the place was unreal but the tank with 6ft plus tuna seemed to top the whole place off. There are some pics I have put on which are not amazing in quality, but hopefully you can kind appreciate the scale of the place. That evening we went for an Italian and then chilled at P's for a couple of hours before catching up on some zzz's lost the night before!
Monday was again a day of travelling back to LA but we managed to fit in some wine tasting in the vineyards which border the highway for hundreds of acres. We visted the Turley vineyards which is a favourite of Tim and Jody's. Wine was excellent weather was not!
