Up early again today! We took formula 1 tuk tuk's to the Monkey temple. Funnily enough we were greeted with a temple swarmed with monkeys. Previously unmentioned was Emily's encounter with a monkey in Delhi. She succeeded in annoying the monkey when she approached it with her camera "ahhh look at the cute little monkey!" I could see why the monkey had issues with this. Anyway, the temple was very interesting. The monkeys were fairly tame and the temple ruins were very picturesque set in the mountains. There we also locals bathing in the stagnant water. Funny when very few were attempting to swim!
From here, and after sliding through cow poo in flip flops, we went to the shops/bazaar. The girls were impressed immediately with the abundance of Bangle shops. Even the 5ft high mound of raw sewage wasn't enough to deter them from purchase stupid, noisy jewellery. So thus me and Stewart decided to head home. We had to walk along a series of shops selling utter rubbish for about half a mile in the soaring heat. A scary sight was the man lying at the side of the road covered in flies. He did not look like he was breathing aswell! We were not impressed with Jaipur...
For dinner the group went to a nice restaurant in a shopping mall. The ambience was soon obliterated thanks to the in house DJ blaring out trance music! We were the only people in the room, and we were having a sit down meal!! We soon let our feelings heard.
That night the younger few in the group had the tough decision of whether to go out or not! Eventually we decided against the drunken night out and stayed in for a strong "tandi" beer. The decision was made easy when we discovered we had ANOTHER early morning... Shame really as we were all ready to use our dance moves we learnt in Madhogarh castle.
Overall up until now, I have come to the conclusion that India can be a beautiful country, it is let down sometimes by the residents.
