Having been stranded in Mackay for 3 days due to the cyclone we were both really looking forward to doing the Whitsundays sailing trip. When we got here we hired a tandem bike and cycled the tourist path along the waterfront through the pines. Arrived in Noosa the day before our canoe trip in the Everglades National Forest. Noosa Heads is surrounded by a beautiuful National Park and lovely beaches. However, the canoe/camping trip was the highlight of our time there. We had two nights and three days in the everglades.,. There was 12 of us in our group and all got along really well. Now in the beautiful city of Brisbane! We are staying at Ian and Bec's apartment (friends from Colchester) which is right in the centre. Well... In Surfers Paradise now and ended up in a really snazzy place! The hostel is joined to a very nice hotel so we get access to the pool, spa, sauna, tennis and squash courts! Right next to the beach too, so we've used these all to our advantage to have a few days chilled (probably not the best word to use as it so hot!) on the beach and around the hotel to get some much needed rest and sleep! Now on the Gold Coast, you can see why it gets its' name....
