After two months, and travelling over 3000 miles, we have come to the end of our journey in Brazil.
Our last stop has been here in Sao Paulo. As my brother has a friend in Sao Paulo, we had a unique opportunity to live in a house in the middle of the city and also in a house deep in the jungle by the sea. We made some good friends who showed us some of Sao Paulo city (such as China Town, some museums and some amazing Samba) and then we all went to the jungle. Its was here that we met even more fun Brazilians and incredible wildlife (one morning we woke up and saw a bright yellow snake slithering in the tree just outside our bedroom window). We ate very well, with several traditional Brazilian BBQs and some of the best baked fish we have ever eaten.
Brazil has provided us with the most beautiful beaches, paradise islands, welcoming and friendly people and so many varying cultures. This country has so much to offer and it is only recently becoming a backpacking destination. We have met lots of interesting people and will take with us many good memories. Some of our favorite places have been the picture-perfect beaches of Ilha Grande; the overwhelming energy and sounds of cultural Salvador (and Bahia state in general) and the beautiful European style cobbled streets of colonial Ouro Preto.
However all good things come to an end, and it is now time to move on, this time to a whole new country...Argentina. Although Brazil has been fantastic we are looking forward to seeing new landscapes (glaciers in Patagonia, the Andean mountains, desert in the north etc.), meeting new people, and eating some of the world's most famous steak (very important as we need to fatten up)!
First stop Iguazu Falls!
Chow for now
