Well Hi Peeps!
What’s new with you all then? I am currently sat out in the garden in the sun catching a few rays listening to the stone roses (and a little fly that sounds like a cricket) did you know the smallest currency over here is 10c they don’t have 1c of 2c or even 5c for that matter so make sure anything you buy is like $1.94 that way you only pay $1.90 haha. Its 6 pm and the sun is as strong as out midday burning wise but it’s not really really hot. I kind of find that a bit weird. Well this week I have my bike fully up and running. Quite exciting I don’t have anything else to get for it thank god. I went for an explore yesterday around all the bays along the front (south east Auckland I think. I ended up catching a ferry across the harbour which is pretty much the only way across if you don’t have a car (I dooo now though) and road up to a lake on lake road the lake was called lake pupke. I also found another bike shop this time a top end specific shop kiwivelo. The couple that own it used to race in Europe so its like a little peace of home so much better than the others so I think this is going to be my favourite shop they gave me more information than I could cope with 6 pages worth! Now I know where all the rides meet up and tt’s every sat morning crit races every Thursday at a place called the tank centre all within riding distance! Yay. Anyway on the way home I got a little lost, but I met a bloke I didn’t get the name of, he just happened to be taking a route that went past home. Had a good chat to him and he recommended race called the great north ride or something 4 days point to point the race is followed by a lorry that carries you bags you get to the stage finish grab your bag and find somewhere to sleep!!
Well back to my car I managed to get a Toyota Corolla 1.6 diesel sedan. One of Aarons friends friend was selling it it’s a good little goer. Any way the fried of Aarons fried happened to be a guy that Aaron went to school with (oddly enough a cyclist as well now I have even more rides to go and do) I am off to Rotorua (pronounced rotor roowa) on Friday I will be peddling down so it will be approx 250km. I have been told it’s a great ride!
The weather is bearing up nicely and I am nearly browner than Kristy hehe that will teach her for putting me on the outside pool haha. I have some really good Jandel (sandal) lines I got them in the first 4 days! I can pretend I have brown sandals and white straps they are that good!
Right I think I a have written quite enough for today and I am getting hungry surprise surprise.
Hasta pronto
Peeps xx
Ps I forgot to say the other day I ended up in a Christmas parade on the back of a coast guard boat wearing a big green dragon suit thing called spike! Really good fun and I got paid to do it wooohooo!
