Surf Camp
On the way out of Melbourne we got lost and it ended up taking us 12hrs to get to Sydney. In Sydney we stayed at the YHA?in Bondi and on Moday the 1st of May we met the bus for our Surf Camp trip.
As we had the car we followed the bus thwe whole way to Byron Bay. It took 5 days and we stopped at 3 different places, the surf camp for 2 nights, a place near Coffs harbour for 1 night and our last night we were camping in a national park.
There was two groups 5day (us) and 4day buty on the 2nd day of our trip we joined to make one big group of many natonalities. German; Sasha, Lawrence and Anna, 2 dutch girls, Norwigen; Lenny Fredric and Tone, English; a couple from Sunderland,?Rich, Greg, Erica, Helen, Becky, Harry and Andy, Irish; Neil, Shamus, Colin and Michell, Cannadian; Anne-Marie, Swiss; Anock, Brazilian; Francis, Belgiun; Yens, and Scotish; us and Lucky.
The instructors were brilliant and a really good laugh. The first days Bryce and Mooney had the task of teaching us how to stand up on the board. Choose a wave... sweet spot... paddle, paddle... nipples... toes... back foot... front foot... stay low watch yourself go... stand tall you fall.
After that it was Dylan, Zack, Rob and Stevie's turn to teach us how to change feet, turn left and right and stablize. At the end of the week there was a surf compition with points not only for good surfing but also for sabotage. In the final Francis got the best sabotage by actually jumping from his board on to another and pusing the guy off thier board.
We got to Byron Bay on the Friday where the instructors had booked a resturant for dinner and then a night of dancing on tables in Cheecky Monkies...
