Ok so here we are again. Today we drove to Matmata to go to the hobbitson tour. This was amazing. We drove out there and when we got there we bought our tickets and waited for the bus to drive us to the set. We had a look at all the little houses and a lot of other stuff out there. Our guide was great and really funny. I was really amazed at how green it was out there. And they had fruit trees with apples and pears. They looked so unreal you just wanted to pick one. Next we came back to Rotoura for lunch and a swim/spa at the motel. We were getting ready for our tour/dinner at Te Puia when mum said to hurry up because it was 4:15pm and we had to be there by 4:30pm. So I ran around finishing getting ready and was running out the door when mum came back up to the motel laughing. She had read her watch wrong and it was only 3:15pm. When we finally did go to Te Puia it was really really spectacular. Our guide took us through a journey of there time. Showed us the wood carvers and weavers at work and how they made rope. Then she showed us how they preserved food and where it was stored. After this we walked down to the thermal area where we saw geysers and boiling mud. It was absolutely amazing and beautiful. We then went to a Maori cultural dance and they were breathtaking. How anyone can have that kind of passion through dance I'll never know. We had hungi for dinner and it was delicious there was all you could eat, seafood, chicken, pork, salad, vegetables, and oh my god dessert. We then got on a little cart to go for a drive down to the gysers again but this time they were lit up in the dark. There were 4 auzzies there and we had a cart all to ourselves. We were yelling out auzzie, auzzie, auzzie. Oi, oi, oi. People were looking at us like we were idiots. We had fun though. I'm sitting in bed ready to crash for the night so we will catchup again tomorrow night for the daily update of our travels.
