Hey everyone! We drove west today. We were not sure where to go so we stopped at a Vistor Center in Yucca Valley and gathtered a bunch of info. A lady suggested a Street Festival in Palm Springs they have every Thursday at 7:00 pm. So we decided to drive a loop up to Bear Lake in the mountains. then finish down near Palm Springs aqnd try to catch the Festival.
So that's what we did. I needed some water and green. So Dad drove through this desolate area to this mountainy area, with switchback roads up to a lake in the mountains.
It was beautiful up there! Similar to Montana mountains at times and similar to Lake Tahoe mountains sometimes. The town was like South Tahoe. We had lunch there. Walked the marina, enjoyed the breeze. then on the way down we had to stop in traffic because of a dam bridge that was being repaired. The road was hairpin turns all the way down once we got started down! Scary. Corie, you would have been proud of your father! He kept up his speed on all the turns.
Then we drove to Palm Springs for the festival. It was great! I loved it there! Stayed about an hour or so then drove home an hour in the dark. Long day but very enjoyable. Oh yeah, we went into an Art Museum in Palm Springs before the festival. It was free on Thursdays. Such an enjopable day! Some of the photos are not that great, but they are something to look at.
Love you guys!
