Now I have been in UK for two weeks. The first days was the hardest, because I didn't knew anyone at all! Although, after a couple of days I found someone I came along with. In the first week we did a test so we could be played in the right level. I end up in upper-intermediate level. In my afternoon classes I am in the preparation for CAE, which is an advanced exam. I think I will take it in June.
There are several thing I England I have to be accustomed to. Like drink tea and look right instead of left when I am crossing the road, for an example.. Newt week will I rent a bicycle but I am a bit worried about riding in the English traffic because it is very confusing! But it will be easier with a bike, so I don't have to walk everywhere.
The first weekend I went to Oxford and Windsor, because there was a really good offer at the school - it was free! :) Windsor was a little town with a beautiful castle were the queen of England is living... Or sometimes she do. We also saw the very fine school 'Eton', where all the royal people go before university. We met some students of the school and they all worn extremely formal uniforms. Then we moved on to Oxford. I liked the city very much! Beautiful buildings everywhere you look! It seamed bigger than Cambridge, but also more chaotic. If I should choose one of the city I would choose Cambridge. There are more open spaces, parks and the inner city is better organized.
This weekend I went to London with some of the others from the school. I paid 11 pound for the train to london, the train back and we could also use the underground in London the whole day. SO CHEAP! We didn't see much of London because most of the time we were shopping, topshop in particularly. Although we did see the Tower Bridge and the castle. I also met Adjoa at her work. It was really good to see her again.
Enough for know, I will write more then I have experienced something new and exiting.
Love Tine
