Boy was Wakin up this morn hard work!! Teach us to drink on a school nite!! Another long drive today to ayers rock.
Apparently we had to perform a dance to a song the night we were back in Alice springs. Tara taught us the moves. It was just too funny. The song was called gum trees and plum trees with sheep n kangaroos. U will see the video lol
On route first stop was at a camel farm. We had the chance to ride camels here. Seein as I done it before I didn't give it a go this time. Some of the others did though :)
Then we headed straight to camp at Yulara. Had lunch and dropped our bags then headed for Ayers Rock.
Ayers rock was sensational ( a word nifty uses a lot lol). The climb to the top looked really hard and was quite amusing watching people attempt it. I didn't give it a ago. They don't really like people doin it plus I was chicken and we had a 9km walk to do round the base.
So....we started walking round the base with all these confusing signs everywhere as to when u can and can't take photos. We got so confused we just gave up!! The walk was pretty easy apart frm the damn flies everywhere. They just get up Ure nose in Ure ear arghhhh. Anyway we got over half way and guess wot... There was a sign to say the rest of the path was closed. We thought it was a joke. We were meant to meet the nifty and Tara at the other end but we had no choice but to turn back. Ended up doin an extra long walk. Wen we got back we had to just sit n wait for them. There was no way of getting hold of them
They finally found us so we made our way to the sunset. Wot a drama!! They could have had a sign to warn us!! There was soo many people at the sunset point but was really cool seeing the colours of the rock change. We also had cheese n biscuits n wine mmmm.
We went back to the lodge n had dinner n knocked out as the nxt day was a 3 hr walk round kata Tjuta. We had to be up and ready for 4.30 for sunrise. Woohooooooooo lol
