Hey every1!
Just thought i'd keep you up to date with whats happening, plus thinking im going to use this as a bit of a diary to try and remember stuff by when i get back home. We left heathrow pretty much on time, just half hour late which wasnt too bad and flight was fine, took 11 hours but actually didnt feel too long, watched superbad and slept quite a bit so wasnt too bad. Lots of pervy old men on the flight plus loads of people our age, few druggies with massive dreadlocks aswell! but we managed to find our way out of airport and to our hotel ok, paid taxi 500 bart for half hour journey, which is like 7 pound so that was awesome. hotel is literally three beds and shower room with toilet and hose, but guess that is what you got to expect on a budget! but we get a free breakfast which is all good! managed to sort out the first night i payed for by accident aswell after a long conversation with the manager, got it refunded! first night we just went out for few drinks, actually ended up getting pretty wasted but dont worry all stayed safe! avoided the dodgy strip clubs too! went to a few bars but clubs are a bit dissapointing, but we just spent most of our time walking kosoma road. thats the main tourist road, where we are staying, loads of shops selling fake stuff, the whole road is lite up with advertising boards for bars, hotels etc, little carts selling figs, kebabs, grasshopers pretty much anything you want! loads of prostitutes and few lady boys about, very funny! all full with english, or just europeans but when you go into other parts of city you see a bit more of the real culture. so many people keep buggy you about buying stuff, including women or strip clubs, ten times worse than spain. food and that is very cheap, can get a noodle dish for about a pound. today we went for river trip with ollie and charloote, two people we know from school, which was rly good because got to see a lot more of the city than just the touristy bits. loads of shaks and people were swimming in the rivers and washing their clothes, so strange and weird just seeing how poor some people are, all very friendly and waving at the tourist boats which is strange as you think they would get a bit pissed off. we also went to a buddha temple, sounds a bit rubbish but the architecture and buildings were actually pretty awesome. theres loads of tuk-tuks around the roads which are like motorbike taxis, and all the drivers are trying to take you to other parts of the city to promote their friends businesses. but was good and quick way to get around. streets are rly busy, so much smog aswell. tomorrow we planning to go to the palace in the morning and then catch the flight which is about fourish to oz. looking foward to chilling out a bit more because although bangkok is awesome and loads happening, just a bit too rushed and getting pestered loads, plus bit hard with loads of people not speaking english. me, sam and jack all fine, hope your all ok too, this key board is a bit dodge so sorry if parts dont make sense. if you wana contact me just email, love you loads and speak to you when we in oz xxxx
