Supplers Road to Nowhere!!
Bangkok, Thailand
Well if youve already looked at some of the photos you may have noticed ive arrived! The flight was long and boring but with 4 seats to stretch out on i soon got some kip and flight did eventually land! As soon as i departed the plane, BANG, the heat just hit me! Is is so humid here and the arverage temperature for my visit was a cold 35c! Didnt take long however for the heavens to open i found myself in a mini bus in the middle of my first asian monsoon! Christ i thought it could rain hard at home, i thought the bus roof was going to cave in! Eventually after what was supposed to be a 40 minute journey I arrived at the Venga Tai Hotel! Where, after getting into my room and actually realising where the hell i was, i met Stephen, along with Wardy, Jules and Matt! Was so good to actually see some familiar faces at last!
Neway, just realised how much im mumberling so better get a riggle on! Went out for some food that eveing and basically caught up with everyone. Also had a walk around Bangkok, which is definatly the craziest city ive ever been to, Tuk-tuks, cars, taxis, markets shops etc etc! Next day went to the grand palace, which is basically what the king owns! Words cant really describe the temples there, everything was so clean, golden and untouched! Absolutly brilliant! That eveing went out in our smart Tshirts to celebrate the kings 60th year in power! Everyone loved the fact that 5 British travellers were walking around in these tops, and everyone kept coming up to us trying to teach us Tai, very funny! Li-la ni-luwong oxy-pea, which means Long love the king, thankyou very much!!
Again spend the next day travelling the sites and again went out in the evening to get completly bladdered on 2 quid!
Only spent 3 days in Bangkok, but to be honest, this was long enough to get a small sample of the place, so to sum up my time there MENTAL would be about the only word to describe it. So i was almost happy to get on plane again, which, for those of you who know me well, thats a miracle! Next stop Sydney international!
