Timmy C Down Under
I decided it was time to move up north and start trying to get a tan just to prove that i have actually been on the other side of the world. Coming up to byron bay was probably the easiet part of my trip to date. I simply bought a bus ticket, sat on it for 12 hours and here i am!! Although 12 hours seems a long time i just slept for the majority of it and it went like clockwork.
Arriving here i was greeted with the blazing sun (of which i thought didnt exist after being freezing cold in southern NSW and ACT for 4 weeks. It seems i have come at the right time of year as well. During June and July it is the time of year when the whales do their annual south to north sea migration. You can stand at the lighthouse or other lookouts and see whales going past as well as the many dolphins who also inhabit these waters. While in byron bay you definately have to try surfing. (the water is colder than i expected!) There are so many places where you can pay for lessons and all are on the cheap side. Fantastic!!
Im here until the 5th of July which by then i will be ready to move up to brisbane and see some of the gold coast before moving up to ailie beach and the like. adios...
