Best day EVER!! After yet another less than appetising, and decidedly yellow breakfast at Hotel Zamora, we set out to discover the vineyards of Mendoza, on two wheels. It was another gorgeous, fresh, sunny morning and we were hangover-free and ready to go. Reaching the unlikely sounding "triangular roundabout", we made a beeline for the first bike hire place in sight and were welcomed by a lovely friendly lady who kitted us out with bikes, map and strange blue ...

The long trip to Mendoza begins in a slight panic - it takes us some time to figure out the unique ordering system of the bus station platforms but we're there in time. Each of our 'Cama exejutivo' seats is more comfortable than expected so no complaints there. Dinner soon arrives, accompanied by the much anticipated refreshments. Day 2 We finally rise from an epic 12 hour sleep feeling refreshed and ready to go. Breakfast on the terrace is pleasant, unfortunately evidence of Spanish languor and gross disregard for punctuality becomes apparent. Reception opens 45mins later than indicated , and only after a wee nudge. Nevertheless, we're on the move around 10.30 only to realise we have no idea where tour buses depart from. Day 1 Soo, turns out ba airport isn't nearly as big as we thought it would be - only four or five luggage carousels with baggage being handled in brought day light. Ah well, we had finally arrived and were well excited. Retrieve luggage in one piece - check. Don't get stopped and frisked by customs - check. Figure out which bus to take to hostel - complete. Get change for bus - hmm...despite widespread advice to go to the bank we insist on buying largely unwan...
