Spent a lovely five days in Tokushima, the festival was really great, very relaxed and good vibes all round. Mind you that could be something to do with the 7% lemon and lime soda drink we have discovered which is not only sold in every shop but in vending machines on the street!! We went to watch the dancing for three nights and did even dance like obligatory fools on one occasion in an impromptu tourist dance off. We also caught the local train to a beach about 40 minutes away famous for the turtles laying their eggs on the sand and the lovely warm sea to swim in. Sadly it turned out that we had missed the laying season and the beach was closed for swimming, so we had a Mr Whippy instead. Also went for a chilled picnic in the local park, took a ride in the cable car up Mount Bizan and have both become quite accustomed to mouching around in Japanese gowns. Off to laze in a communal hot spring bath in the next town along....
