Another morning where we didn't have to get up at the crack of dawn to get a bus which was nice, this time the bus station was just up the road from us again but they were minibuses that run every 30 minutes to Bangkok and you just turned up and got on for a small fee.
We spotted a little family run restaurant for breakfast, it was difficult finding restaurants and places to eat around her, there aren't many at all!
We both had morning glory and shared a rice, we both had a kiwi Italian soda, they were so good so we took another one for the road!
We caught the 10am bus, we didn't get into Bangkok until 12 midday. The bus was only supposed to take an hour, which it did but we were an hour in traffic in Bangkok itself. Bangkok traffic is horrendous.
On the bus I was well into the book I was reading! It's really good about a drug trafficker that got caught and sent to a Bolivian prison, the stuff that he went through was awful! But made a good story!
We caught a very expensive taxi compared to anywhere else we have caught taxis and trucks, of course it's Bangkok. I'm so happy to be back.
April is festival season in Thailand by the seems of things and we just happened to have to go through the middle of a festival with discount pop up shops and dancing and people were everywhere! So the taxi ride took an hour. I'm so happy to be back in Bangkok.
Scott was loving it though and he was having a massive conversation with the driver because he supported man utd and he knew loads about the players and the games etc.
finally we got to the hotel and it was nice and easy checking in and dumping our bags to go up on the pool to relax and start to top up the tan as now we are more pale than when we first came away!
We were glad that we could book the bus to Phuket from the hotel rather than going to the bus station and having to waste the whole afternoon booking our tickets there!
The rest of the afternoon we chilled out by the pool, tonight we were having a 'wild one' on Khao San road.
We went to centre khao San pub, it's wild there with the lucky beer bar opposite and they're basically having a battle at who can play the loudest music. The girls that are standing outside trying to get people into their bar are eyeing each other up, it's basically a stare off and some of the lady boys that are doing it really go to town on strutting their stuff and trying to flutter their eyelashes at getting people into the bar, as you get further into the night they get closer together because the bars start being ing out more tables and chairs making the pathway narrower between the both bars.
We didn't really speak much through the first tiger tower we had because we were enjoying the people watching far to much, we only shouted at each other to discuss people watching notes, like 'look at the one to the left in the blue skirt, that one is a lady boy'.
We had some laughing gas in the balloons which made us feel really light headed and the we had another tower, Scott started waving at his fellow Japanese friends and dancing with them from a distance, they were absolutely loving it!
We were both really drunk by the end of the night, we went to the 7/11 for a toastie and retreated to bed.
As soon as our heads it the pillow we were out for the count! It had been a good night, dancing and singing, people watching and drinking beer!
Khao San road knows how to party!
