Saturday 30 August
We spent the last few days of our time in the UK visiting friends and family and saying farewell and until the next time. We had a lovely evening in York with Shelly and Katrina's Mum and Dad and sister Nicola and nephew Lewis. A great night with my old work mates and my "previous" boss Sue and her husband Keith (promised I wouldn't call her "old" boss again!) and a really enjoyable afternoon with pals Sue and David Griffin who took us for a ride in their 1937 Singer 9hp. What a giggle we had riding through the streets of Wilsden and Cullingworth.
Bank Holiday Monday was spent with Stuart and Louise and our lovely little nieces Zoe and Sophie. How they will have grown by the time we next see them! Great to catch up with everyone but of course very sad to have to say farewell.
Then, finally we headed over to Scarborough to Neil's mum and dad's to sort out all the luggage and decide what could be taken on the plane and what would have to be sent back home by airmail. Where had it all come from? After travelling light in the US it just looked like everything had multiplied in the UK! But eventually we were ready for our final night in the UK and great that John, Alison, Jemma and Jonty came over to share it with us for a visit to the local pub for a meal and our last taste of Yorkshire bitter.
So today we head to Manchester Airport for our flights to Heathrow, Bangkok and Koh Samui.
