Arrived in Chile safely after an 11 hour flight with nothing to see but sea until we reached the Chilean coast line. Then as the plane banked towards Santiago we had our first sight of the snow capped Andes and these are really impressive. At our arrival at the airport we were hounded by hoards of taxi drivers vying for our business but, ever in search of a bargain, we managed to find a bus to Santiago centre and then a taxi to our Hostel, a distance of around 21 kms for a bargain price of NZ$4.

We are now writing this blog on a very old and very slow computer at our hostel so we will up-date with photos when we can find an Internet Cafe. For the Wellington RATs we will add the farewell party photos then also.
